Vasundhara Vedula

She holds an L.L.B from Government Law College, Mumbai and an M.A from Tata Institute of Social Sciences, Mumbai. In 2013, she started her own social enterprise, 'Upcykal'. Through Upcykal, she trained women from Dharavi in tailoring products from textile waste. This was funded by the Development Bank of Singapore through their TISS-DBS Fellows program. Since 2015, her work has focused on access to justice and rights-based litigation. She assisted one of India's leading women's rights lawyers, Adv. Veena Gowda in providing legal support to survivors of domestic violence. This work involved engaging with the local police and public health care system on behalf of the clients. She also assisted Adv. Gowda with POSH inquiries and trainings. Vasundhara has also worked with international non-profits such as the New York Legal Assistance Group (NYLAG) and International Transport Workers’ Federation (ITF). With NYLAG, she assisted her supervising attorneys with civil litigation (related to immigration and family law) for low-income New Yorkers in various New York's borough courts. For ITF, Vasundhara conducted research on how violence impacts women’s performance at the workplace. She conducted the research with Maharashtra State Transport Union’s women bus drivers and conductors. Building on this diverse experience, since 2021, she has served as External Member on Internal Committees and inquired into complaints of sexual harassment, conducted trainings, drafted POSH policies, and assisted with compliance requirements such as Quarterly Meetings and Annual Report submissions. She has conducted IC trainings, gender sensitization and employee awareness trainings in corporate settings, warehouses and even for workers on construction sites. She conducts these trainings in English, Hindi and Telugu.

As an external member, I provide end-to-end POSH services such as policy drafting, employee awareness, IC trainings, awareness posters, quarterly meetings and annual report filings for legal compliance.

I have conducted inquiries and conciliations across industries such as aviation, banking, logistics, manufacturing and software services.
