Anumita Sarkar

Anumita is an Expert, Independent Policy and Strategic Advisor, Founding Lawyer of P/ PRABHAVEE, a strategy and management consultancy based in Delhi. She works at the intersection of Social Sustainability, Governance, Corporate Accountability, Human Rights, and Responsible Business. She is a Strategic Leader with an interdisciplinary academic background in Sociology, Law, Communications, and Strategic Management, and brings close to two decades of sectoral & cross-functional expertise. Anumita has extensive experience across diverse industries, including LegalTech, Publishing, Social Impact Consulting, University, Public Policy Office, Social Enterprise, Nonprofit Accelerator and Advisory Boards, and has successfully collaborated with Government, Private Sector, Nonprofits, Business Chambers, UN agencies, Publishers, University, Centre of Excellence, Think Tanks, Policy Experts, and C-Suite Leaders. Prior to her engagements in the social sector consultancy, public policy, and academia, she worked over 11 years across diverse roles, including Tax practice, Regulatory Risk and Compliance Management, Publishing, Information Services and Product Management. Anumita is a Strategic Leader, with an academic background in Sociology, Law, Communications, and Strategic Management, with 18 years of diverse, sectoral & functional expertise. Currently, she serves as an Advisory Board Member of Darbar Sahitya Sansada, Odisha, a grassroots NGO based in Odisha working on issues related to rural development, women’s empowerment, prevention of gender violence, and sustainable livelihoods. She previously worked with Haqdarshak Empowerment Solutions Pvt. Ltd. in Training and Development. Anumita is a graduate with a B.A. (Hons.) Sociology from Miranda House College, University of Delhi, a Law graduate from Campus Law Centre, Faculty of Law, University of Delhi, a Post Graduate Diploma in Mass Communication from Bhavan’s Rajendra Prasad Institute of Communication & Management, Delhi and Certificate in Strategic Management from IIM-Bangalore. She is an alumna of the Indian School of Development Management (ISDM), where she completed a Board Development Program, Cohort 5 of Women on Boards (WoB). She is an Alumni Member of ITCILO: International Training Centre of the International Labour Organisation (ILO), previously a Member of Anti-Corruption Collective Action Working Group of UN Global Compact Network India, and an Affiliate of the Teaching Business and Human Rights Forum.
